Course Journal: Tracking Your Qi Cultivation Journey
As part of this Course, you are offered a Course Journal to document your experiences, insights, and progress throughout your Qi cultivation practice. This journal serves as a structured guide to help you deepen your understanding, refine your techniques, and track your personal transformation over time.
Qi cultivation is an experiential journey — each practice session will bring new sensations, discoveries, and shifts in awareness. Keeping a journal allows you to observe these subtle changes, recognise patterns, and develop a more intuitive relationship with your energy system.
Why Use the Course Journal?
- Enhance Self-Awareness – Writing about your experiences helps you notice how different practices affect your body, emotions, and mental clarity.
- Track Progress Over Time – Qi sensitivity develops gradually. The journal allows you to see subtle improvements that may not be immediately obvious.
- Refine Your Practice – Reviewing your notes helps you identify what techniques work best for you and where adjustments are needed.
- Anchor Your Intentions – Writing down your focus before and after each session helps you stay committed and engaged.
- Capture Insights & Personal Discoveries – Some of the most profound realisations come unexpectedly. Documenting them preserves valuable lessons for future practice.
- Understand Energy Fluctuations – Your energy levels will vary due to lifestyle, emotions, environment, and seasons. Tracking these shifts allows you to adapt your practice accordingly.
How to Use Your Course Journal
Your provided Course Journal document is designed to be filled in after each practice session. Each entry will guide you through reflecting on your experiences, observing energy shifts, and setting intentions for future sessions.
Below are examples of entries that you might like to include in your journal in response to the various prompts:
1. Session Reflections
- Which practice(s) did you do today?
- How did your body feel before, during, and after the session?
- Did you notice specific sensations (heat, tingling, pressure, expansion, etc.)?
- How was your emotional and mental state before and after the practice?
2. Energy Observations
- Where did you feel the Qi most strongly?
- Were there any blockages or areas where Qi felt stagnant or weak?
- Did the energy flow feel smooth, erratic, strong, or subtle?
3. Insights & Personal Discoveries
- Did you gain any new understanding or awareness during the practice?
- Did you experience moments of deep stillness, clarity, or connection?
- Were there challenges or difficulties that need further exploration?
4. Intention Setting for Future Practice
- What is your focus for your next session?
- Are there specific areas of your energy work you would like to refine or explore further?
5. External Factors & Influences
- How did external conditions (sleep, diet, emotions, stress, environment) impact your session?
- Did practicing at a specific time of day or in a particular location change your experience?
How to Get the Most Out of Your Journal
- Be consistent – Aim to fill out your journal after each practice session while experiences are still fresh in your mind.
- Write freely – There are no right or wrong answers – this is your personal record of your journey.
- Review past entries – Over time, patterns will emerge that help you refine your practice and recognise your growth.
- Use it as a feedback tool – If you encounter difficulties, your journal can help identify potential causes and solutions.
Final Thoughts
Your Course Journal is not just a record — it is a companion on your journey of Qi cultivation. It will help you develop greater self-awareness, deepen your connection to energy, and enhance the benefits of your practice.
Take a few moments after each session to fill in your journal — even brief notes can be incredibly insightful over time. The more you engage with your journey, the more meaningful your practice will become.
Please find your Course Journal workbook in the Exercise Files tab. There are two versions – one if you intend to use a computer to fill it out (Online Fillable Form) and one if you intend to print it out and fill it in with a pen.
